Kapiti Friends Of Animal Charities group....
April 2013
Friends Of Animal Charities group members are pictured fundraising at the recent Waikanae Easter Market Day

Approximately one year ago a group of friends got together and decided to form a non profit charitable organisation to assist other animal welfare organisations on the Kapiti Coast.Named Friends Of Animal Charities the group members are currently fundraising in the form of raffles, coffee mornings, markets, garage sales etc, while raising awareness and support for our furry friends.

A group spokesperson Janine Tieman says Friends of Animal Charities is non profit and all the money raised goes back to the community assisting animal organisations such as HuHa (Helping you helping animals) and just recently the Horowhenua Rescue Centre.

"It was here that we were able to help "Gypsy" (the 16 month old lab cross dog and her pups). We picked up the tab for her veterinary bill which enabled her to be put up for adoption and hopefully ensuring a happy outcome.

"At present we are operating out of a garage, but are hoping one day soon to move to retail premises where we can accept and sell bigger items.(Currently we are looking for an affordable retail rental property)… maybe you can help?"

Janine says Friends of Animal Charities have several professional people assisting them, such as: an electrician, builder, Web Design Company and a jeweller. "The group is thankful to them and the large number of supporters within our community. Without their help, our fundraising would so much harder."

If you wish to help with donations, goods or your profession services please contact: Janine... Paraparaumu: 04 298-5122 or Brenda...Waikanae: 04905-3823. If you wish to join the group or help out in any way, Friends of Animal Charities would love to hear from you.
