Freddy and Pierre 'The Pretty Boys' July 21, 2020
![]() Kāpiti Entertainment - Freddy Sayer ( Ōtaki College Y9) and Pierre Lange-Gerrard (Te Horo School Y8) are 13yr olds busking at Ruth Prettys. Freddy Sayer ( Ōtaki College Y9) and Pierre Lange-Gerrard (Te Horo School Y8) have been part of The After School Music Programme run out of Ōtaki College for a long time. Ruth Pretty (From Ruth Pretty Catering Te Horo) has again offered Freddy and Pierre an opportunity to raise funds for a music/arts cause locally. The boys have decided to take this opportunity to 'give back' to something that has given them a lot of help and use their skills as musicians to do so. They figure, that although they go to different schools (Freddy attends Ōtaki College and Pierre attends Te Horo School), that they could raise money for new instruments for The After School Music Programme. This is something that they have both attended and they feel they could really get behind it. Pierre is still in the Music Programme and Freddy is now training to be an assistant to Carylann Martin on keys at the Music Programme. The Pretty Boys have been given leave on Friday afternoons by their respective principals and are very excited to be back at Ruth's for 'The Friday Frolics'. History of 'The Pretty Boys' In 2018 and 2019 both Freddy Sayer and Pierre Lange- Gerard both (11) were offered a great opportunity to raise money for their primary school by Ruth Pretty. Ruth asked if they would like to raise some funds by playing some songs at her 'Friday Frolics' (an annual set menu winter lunch that she holds at her venue in Te Horo). The boys managed to raise enough funds to assist their school drama group to go to the Junior Theatre Celebration, in Auckland both years. Hence the name of their duo, 'The Pretty Boys'.
Book on Ruth Pretty's website while there are still spaces available.
