Two Car Crash on Kapiti Rd
January 9, 2018
Les Taylor from Glassfit was quickly on hand to direct traffic at today's crash on Kapiti Rd.

Police attended a two car crash just past the Expressway intersection on Kapiti Rd at lunchtime today.

One car was extensively damaged and the other also suffered front end damage. Neither of the drivers appeared to be injured.

First on the scene was Les Taylor in his Glassfit van.

"I saw it happening right in front of me and there was no way of preventing it. The car in front of me took off and somebody had to help out so I parked up, made sure the drivers were ok then directed traffic until the police arrived.

Mr Taylor says it was good news that nobody was injured but the cars weren't looking to good.

I've always felt it was stupid to not be able to turn right out of the BP. It's not exactly difficult if you have a modicum of driving ability, unfortunately the driving standards in NZ are shockingly bad.

Surprised there are not more accidents at that spot. I have always felt it stupid to cut across to or from that BP station.
