Event Manager Optimistic for Kāpiti SHAG Show

Local Event Manager Louise Dench says it is a shame to hear Kāpiti Coast District Council have decided to no longer run the Sustainable Home and Garden show.

“It has been a unique and really popular event drawing people of all ages even from outside the district.
“I share Cr Jackie Elliott’s disappointment. I have been involved with the show for a number of years through my event management business Stress Free Functions, and as such, I know a winner when I see one.
I’m keen to look at the feasibility of keeping the show going, and can already think of a dozen people involved in the past shows’ organisation to discuss this with in the new year,” says Ms Dench.

“At this stage, I would request KCDC Management’s full cooperation in allowing this to happen, and as a show of goodwill request that they confirm at this early stage that all the signage, databases and contacts and plans and costings related to the show are kept and made available to any group who has the will to breathe new life into it.

“So with quietly bubbling optimism, I look forward to the next Sustainable Home and Garden Show rather than just say how sad, what a shame. Please contact Cr Jackie Elliott or me, Louise Hinton Dench on [email protected] if you wish to be involved.”
