Reikorangi residents gathered on Wednesday afternoon to celebrate the official opening of the Reikorangi Community Hall, and the new Playground at the Reikorangi Reserve.
Reikorangi Residents Assn chair Julia Palmer says this in an excellent facility for the whole community. She says it came about as a result of a lot of hard work and fundraising from the Reikorangi community, as well as support from the Waikanae Community Board and Kāpiti Council.
Ms Palmer says the upgrade on the hall and the new playground being completed was very much a co-operative effort and the timing was great as the Reikorangi Community Fair will be held there on the 26th of January.
The official ribbon cutting was also a collaborative effort with 2-year-old Daisy cutting the bottom ribbon and KCDC Property Manager Kelvin Irvine cutting the top ribbon to declare the facility open.
