Kāpiti Business Chamber general manager Claire Mance says there is much to be optimistic about as we head into a new year.

“2024 has been quite the ride, has it not? As a small business owner myself, for many of us it’s meant reshaping services, redefining our purpose, and diversifying income to stay afloat.

“Globally and nationally, narratives have stretched our patience and, at times, divided us. Yet, New Zealanders have a unique way of rallying, lifting one another, and finding optimism amidst uncertainty. Keep going.”

Let’s grow

“We’re excited about a summer breather, time with whānau, and regenerating in order to execute what lies ahead. With fresh strategic partnerships in the wings, we’re driving more opportunities for business support across our rohe (district),” says Ms Mance.

“Our expanding team will mean more boots on the ground, connecting with our partners and business community. Welcome Tina Larsen, our new Community Engagement Manager and Madi Faahei, our new Social Media Manager. What a feeling to have reached our next point of impact.”

Raising the bar

Ms Mance says the next phase of membership value includes: “the relaunch of our website with key partner profiles and membership directory, a refreshed Kāpiti Business Magazine that showcases emerging success stories, member only corporate discounts, a networking app, and a learning & development series designed to elevate your productivity and confidence.

“2025 is all about raising the bar — so let’s go.

“It’s not without your support. From myself, our team, and our Board—thank you. Your trust and backing help drive our mission to advocate for, uplift and celebrate local businesses and your people.”
