Police can now name the driver of a vehicle who died following a crash involving a car and a parked truck-trailer at around 10.15pm on Friday 3 May on Lethbridge Street, Feilding.
The man is named as Darius Nass Hoani, 42, of Feilding.
Police say they extend their condolences to his family and friends at this difficult time.
Mr Hoani died at the scene and two others were transported to Palmerston North Hospital in a serious condition.
The Serious Crash Unit have conducted a scene examination and enquiries are ongoing to determine the cause of the crash.
NZTA says vehicles of many sizes share New Zealand’s road network, but they don’t always share it safely.
“Every year around 44 people die as a result of crashes between trucks and cars or motorcycles, and a further 488 people are injured.”
