The small park opposite the dairy in Raumati South village, Poplar Avenue, has officially been named Leon Kiel Reserve in a ceremony in March.
Leon, who died 15 years ago was a leading environmentalist, musician and mentor who was passionate about Raumati South.
Leon was a highly respected stonemason who built many lasting structures on the Kāpiti Coast
There was live music until 10pm from friends and family and anyone who remembered Leon came to just enjoy another great Raumati South community event.
