New Zealand born Finnegan Tui (Bognuda) returns to the shores of Aotearoa for one intimate solo show at the RSC in Raumati South.

Finnegan starting playing violin at six years old and progressed to the guitar at the age of nine and under the tutelage of Dieter Bermister, achieved a guitar teaching diploma at age eleven.

He moved to the UK as a teenager to study at the prestigious Guild Hall London and upon leaving there collaborated with young film-maker Jack Tierney and together they made a visual EP “Zephyr” a story and twenty five minute film that related to Finns” music. He kept at his craft and eventually things picked up, selling a song to an American film studio and his streaming numbers getting into the millions.

Last year he completed a European and UK tour supporting Fink . Followed by this year doing his first major headline shows in Berlin, Paris and a sold out show in London.

The death of his uncle has bought him home and his Dad asked him to play a show here. He usually performs now with a small band, but agreed to play one in his old neighbourhood. There will be a support act.

Finn says “ last year’s result warmed my heart,” in relation to going to number 2, in the folk section, on a New Zealand online chart, after being played by Mark Amery on his National Radio show.

Finn has developed a sound of his own, his brand of electronic folk, epics of sound. His shows usually are with him and a band and a big sound, but this show will be the man and his guitar and a new box of tricks.
