Festival of Pots and Garden Art

This Wellington Anniversary Weekend, let your creative spirit soar at the Festival of Pots and Garden Art, running from Thursday, January 16 to Monday, January 20, 2025. The event will be held at the serene Anam Cara Gardens, located at 150 Rangiuru Road, Ōtaki Beach.

With over 100 artisans showcasing their work, the festival promises an enriching experience for art lovers of all ages. The event is open daily from 10 am to 4 pm, with a late-night close at 8 pm on Friday, January 17. Entry is just $5, with children under 16 entering free.

This year’s festival celebrates three extraordinary talents:

  • Royce McGlashen: A retired ceramicist from Nelson with a 47-year legacy of crafting pottery inspired by New Zealand’s natural beauty.
  • Brett Keno: A local Ōtaki stone carver who brings his Māori heritage to life through intricate Oamaru limestone sculptures.
  • Lisa Grennell: A Nelson-based artist who creates nostalgic, vibrant works using reverse painting and silkscreen printing on Perspex.
