Andrew Malcolm says following on from the Christmas Remembrance Service there is still a chance to come and place a card on the tree in Remembrance.

“The gathering of that large group in the community, those that have lost a loved one in the past few years, was held at Kāpiti Coast Funeral Home.”

Bringing hope and support during a sad time for some at Christmas.

Mr Malcom says nearly 100 people gathered to reflect and remember and joined in not only listening to some readings and the theme of Hope and support, but also to join in singing and a story shared, finished off by all coming together to decorate the tree with cards specifically with a personalised message written during the gathering to the person they had come to remember and include in their Christmas.

“The tree is still at the Funeral Home till Christmas Eve and available to anyone who wishes to pop in during office hours to write a message to their loved one and place it on the tree. Cards are provided and a decoration in remembrance is given to take away too.”

The Funeral Home is at 9 Hinemoa Street, just over the railway line, Paraparaumu.
