Kāpiti Half Marathon 2024 is presented by a partnership between Howard&Co and Voyle&Co.
Kāpiti Half Marathon is back for its highly anticipated 2024 edition, set to take place on Sunday 10th November. Runners and walkers of all levels are invited to experience the stunning coastal scenery, community spirit, and a day filled with excitement.
This year’s event will feature a half marathon (21.1km), a 10km, a 5km and a kids 2km, making it perfect for seasoned athletes and casual participants alike. The course is flat and fast where you will wind your way through river trails, lake loops and boardwalks all with views over the spectacular Kāpiti Island. Finish on the beautiful beach side park and celebrate your efforts with friends and whānau.
Ceinwen Howard says the Andco group, represented here by Howard&Co and Voyle&Co, are very pleased to sponsor the Kāpiti Half Marathon.
“This event is wonderful for Kāpiti and the participants come here from far and wide. It’s also great for our local economy as entrants get to enjoy our local businesses.”
Ceinwen says it is expected there will be plenty of entries as the event caters for all ages and levels of ability. “There will also be large numbers of spectators. We are passionate about promoting Kāpiti and encouraging active participation and this event does that very well. Kāpiti is a growth area and we are attracting a wide range of people who want to visit, and to live here.”
Event Director Benjy Barsanti says Kāpiti Half are thrilled to welcome aboard new local, title sponsors for all distances this year as follows: the Kia Kāpiti Half Marathon, the BFT Kāpiti 10km, the Elevation Homes 5km and the Coastlands Kids’ 2km.
“We also welcome back our two long-standing charity partners; Kaibosh Food Rescue and the Waikanae Estuary. Participants are challenged to raise money through sponsorships for these two fantastic local causes. We have two incredible prizes very kindly donated by Kāpiti Island Tours, for the people who raise the most money for each charity,” says Mr Barsanti.
“This year we are also very excited to announce the addition of the Kia Km for cash. We are offering $1000 cold hard cash for the fastest male and fastest female over the final km of our course. Those who have entered the 5km, 10km or 21km and complete the whole course are automatically entered to win. We also have a prize draw for the most average km time of the day.”
