Calling all Kapiti poets

If you’re a poet, we want to know it! Kāpiti Coast District Libraries’ annual poetry competition returned for its twelfth year with Phantom Billstickers National Poetry Day being celebrated by poems written on the theme “Reflection/Pūmahara”. As usual, the theme could be interpreted in any way.

All entries will be compiled and published in a print book and eBook. Winners will be announced on National Poetry Day at the Open Mic Night at Paraparaumu Library on Friday 23 August, 5:30–6:30pm.

Entry Details: Entry is free and open to anyone in the Kāpiti community. You may submit one poem per person of no more than 10 lines. The submission form will be available on the library website from Monday 10 June. 

Entries may be in English or Te Reo Māori. The submissions are open to three age groups:

Child 6 – 12 years

Teen 13 – 18 years

Adults 19+ years

Submission Dates:  10 – 30 June 2024
