The ANZAC Dawn service was a moving and commemorative event held this morning at the Paraparaumu Memorial ground.
This event was observed today April the 25th to mark the landing of ANZAC troops at Gallipoli, Turkey in 1915, near the start of World War One. This morning’s service started just before sunrise and consisted of a wreath-laying ceremony, a minute of silence, the playing of the Last Post, and both the New Zealand and Australian national anthems. The ANZAC Dawn Service provided an opportunity for people of Kāpiti to come together and pay their respects to those who have fought and died for their country.
