Bus Lanes have increasingly been overtaken by drivers often at their cost. In a five week period last year 1544 tickets were issued during for driving in the bus lane. A ticket for being in a bus lane when you should not be is $150.
Sam Somers reports on a recent drive to work recording video footage.
“Now this was my trip to work this morning, and 11 cars in the space of 4 minutes illegally used the bus lane and in 1 case to be 3 cars ahead of me. But also look at the number of cyclists. Note my clock is 1H out because it was changed for Daylight Savings. This was at 7.50am this morning which was busier than normal as it normally takes me half the time to get along this corridor, says Sam.
