Martin Sloman of the Kāpiti Kindness Trust says they are very pleased to announce that the winner of the e-bike is Andrew Brown.

“Andrew has given permission for us to let the community know that he has been diagnosed with motor neurone disease and as a result of this is unable to cycle as much as he would like to. As an absolute biking enthusiast this e-bike which has been so generously and anonymously gifted will allow Andrew the opportunity to continue to do something that means so much to him and also to continue to cycle with his lovely wife Maria and other family members and friends.

“I had the privilege of meeting Andrew and some of his family today and hearing his story. Andrew has given a lot to his community over the years both professionally and personally and we don’t think there is a more worthy winner.”

Martin says the Kāpiti Kindness Trust is enormously grateful to their anonymous donor who wanted to use our organisation to facilitate the gifting.

“We had many amazing nominations and some heart wrenching stories. We are only sorry that not everybody could win.”
