While voting numbers after the first week appear to be low in Kāpiti, they are expected to rise sharply as the postal system catches up.
The figures in Kāpiti are generally on a par with other councils at this stage. Slowing the count for Kāpiti is the arrangement this election where all Kāpiti votes are posted to Independent Election Services in Auckland who have been contracted to run the Kāpiti Council election. Numbers are then relayed back to KCDC to be published daily.

At 1.30pm Tuesday 27 September 2022, 1775 voting documents have been returned to the Electoral Officer for the Kāpiti Coast, which represents 4.1 percent of eligible voters.
