The scrub fire that broke out near Kaitawa Reserve in Paraparaumu yesterday has been successfully extinguished.
Several Fire and Emergency services quickly attended the blaze which spread in the bush along Epiha St late yesterday afternoon. When appliances arrive large areas of scrub and bush were already on fire.
A person on the scene reported to KCNews that there were nine fire appliances attending the blaze which was finally extinguished after three hours.
There has been no official response as to the cause of the fire and that is being investigated. No houses were damaged and no residents needed to evacuate.
