Police and LandSAR have continued to search for Brent Falaniko today in the Waikanae Beach area.
Brent’s family is extremely concerned for his wellbeing and would like to know he is safe and well.
Police say the search for Brent will continue tomorrow, covering a wider area. He is described as being of a mediium build, with grey shoulder-length hair and a beard. He was last seen carrying a blue blanket.
“Police continue to ask that the public watch out for Brent and report any sightings matching his description.
“We also continue to ask that people in the Waikanae Beach area check their properties and out-buildings, in case Brent has sought shelter.”

A family member says “this is our loved husband, father, son and brother who is missing from Waikanae, since Tuesday.
“He was last seen at Victor Weggery Reserve. We are very concerned for his well-being. He is approachable, we just don’t know where he has gone.
“He was last seen wearing a dark grey sweatshirt, grey trackpants and black sports shoes. He was carrying a blue blanket.
“He has a front gold tooth.”
