Kāpiti’s Michelle Lewis has been selected to join the Public Transport Advisory Group administered by Greater Wellington Regional Council.
A Greater Wellington spokesperson said Ms Lewis has a very good understanding of transport issues.
“She has experience working in the advisory space for transport for local government, central agencies (New Zealand Transport Agency) and consultancy; has presented to ministers on public transport issues, and boards on regional issues (rail funding, integrated ticketing, and the National Land Transport Programme generally).”
Ms Lewis also has the necessary governance experience.
“When taken as a whole (including current appointments made to the Advisory Group on 30 April 2020), it was considered that this appointment helps the overall make-up of the Advisory Group provide:
Broad representation of perspectives and consumer needs; Governance experience; Geographic spread; and Demographic diversity.”
Greater Wellington established the public transport advisory group to provide consumer advice to help inform their Metlink business and their Transport Committee.
