Another great turnout marked the 2019 Waikanae Easter Market with hundreds of locals and visitors rocking up on Easter Saturday to enjoy the atmosphere and sample the wares of nearly 100 stalls.
There was plenty of music and entertainment to enjoy with musicians spread in and around Mahara Place.
The revamping work of Mahara Place was a possible concern as it was usually the main part of the Market but the public quickly adapted to find stalls along the main road as well as in and around Mahara Place.
Lynn Strickland’s children’s entertainment and The Mobility Company’s older children’s entertainment (their eBikes!), Andy’s spit roast outside his Waikanae Butchery again, The Greyhounds as Pets Group, HUHANZ, and Plenty of food and drink were available throughout.
This year was also a fund-raising year for HUHANZ to say thank you to them for all their tireless work, particularly recently during the Nelson fires.
Organiser Sue Lusk and her team did another brilliant job in promoting not only Waikanae, but Kāpiti in general, to a very large audience.
