Kāpiti community are joining together to have a Fun, Free and Full-on Family day out at Paraparaumu Beach with Books At The Beach, an event showcasing our talented local Kāpiti Authors and Story Tellers.
Books at the Beach event has been in the planning for the last 10 months and is shaping up to be a fabulous day on February 16.
“There is something for everyone, and of all ages. The authors and story tellers, and performers are giving their valuable time for free for our community, we really can’t thank them enough,” says Sharon Hunter Chair of Paraparapumu Beach Business Association who have organised this for the community.
Sharon says there is such a huge program, the best way to see what’s on offer is to head over to the website; www.booksatthebeach.co.nz to read the program or watch the short video about what is planned.
“A very special opening will begin the day. This will be led by Karl and Chris Webber (Hau Kainga from Ngati Toarangatira, Ati Awa & Ngati Raukawa), Watene Herangi Kaihau (no Waikato ……Turangawaewae) and followed by stories from world famous in Kāpiti Queenie Rikihana-Hyland (from Ngati Raukawa, Toa Rangatira and Te Ati Awa ki Waikanae) so make sure you are at Maclean Park at 10am see you there!”
