The Phonic Posse and The Jazz Shed presents
History of The Blues – A Journey Through The Delta
Saturday August 11th
Waikanae Charter Club
6 pm Doors open – 7.30 Show starts
Cost:$25
Let us take you on a journey in time, exploring the many amazing stories of blues music from Ancient chants, chain gang songs and Gospel spirituals to the contemporary sounds of urban blues. You will be given the meanings behind many of these songs that will be played like the times of old and be totally wrapped up in this experience.
In the first part of this experience, Tim L Brown and the infamous Caramello’s, will be playing a variety of traditional instruments like the cigars box guitars and percussive tools that will give the rhythmic and soulful feel of the past, and use their voices as instruments. Finally, they will use blues harps, saxiphones, lap steel and resonator guitars like Howling Wolf and Muddy waters and move onto the more contemporary blues styles of Stevie Ray Vaughn and Gary Clarke Junior.
Shows like this very rarely come along, so get a table of friends and come to enjoy the experience together. Bar facilities are available and also a restaurant if you would like to have a meal before the performance.
