Climate Change on the menu for Kāpiti

The Electra Business Breakfast is hosting Professor James Renwick of Victoria University of Wellington and Member of Low Carbon Kāpiti Inc. He will discuss how climate change works, what is happening now, future changes in New Zealand, and implications for Kāpiti and the wider community.
Climate change is reshaping the weather, the seasons, and the map of New Zealand. As the Government’s Climate Change Adaptation Technical Working Group recently said, “right now is a time when New Zealand is waking up to the reality that climate change affects what we do, how we do it, and where we live.”
This presentation will discuss the basics of how climate change works and what is happening with the climate at present. It will go on to explore future changes in New Zealand, and what the implications are for Kāpiti.
Professor Renwick will also discuss what we need to do to tackle this biggest of global, and local, problems. He will wrap with brief information about Low Carbon Kāpiti Inc and positive steps local businesses can take on this global issue.
