Police have issued a notice advising motorists heading north on State Highway 1 out of Wellington that there will delays due to a serious crash this evening.
Police were advised of the two-car crash at Raumati South – on SH 1 between the Whareora Road on-ramp and the Kāpiti Expressway – at 6:45pm.
There are a number of people with moderate to serious injuries, and a helicopter has been called to the scene.
The northbound lane is blocked, and the Police Serious Crash Unit is attending.
Motorists are asked to delay their journey if possible, and to expect delays.
