Saturday evening will see about 1500 Kāpiti people singing out loud in the Carols by the Sea concert in the grounds of Kāpiti School.
Carols by the Sea has been a tradition in Kāpiti for the last 12 years and it set to continue this year but with a change of venue.
Pastor Lawrence Kirby of Kāpiti Impact Church says moving from Maclean Park at Paraparaumu Beach to Kāpiti School allowed more room for growing crowds and is more protected from the elements.
He says they are expecting about 1500 for the family event which is being held on Saturday December 9, starting at 6pm.
Pastor Kirby says it’s a free night for the family and there is plenty of entertainment including the traditional sing-a-long to Christmas Carols with the Kāpiti Impact Music team.
Glenn Mattingley from main sponsor NZ Home Loans says Carols by the Sea is an amazing free community event which NZHL loves supporting. He says it’s their way of giving back to the community.
