Cindy Foote of Jade Property Management says a recent decision about giving clients Christmas gifts was made easier following her experience with Outward Bound.
Ms Foote says the challenges of Outward Bound changed the paradigm for her in terms of consumption.
She says, we all consume too much and so this year she and her Jade staff decided their $2000 Christmas budget would be donated completely to Wellington Free Ambulance in Kāpiti.
Ms Foote says Wellington Free do a brilliant job and everyone has been touched in some way by the work they do.
“The fact is what they do is save lives. We are short of ambulances here on the Coast and they need our support,” says Ms Foote.
Wellington Free Ambulance also celebrated 90 years of service this week with their One-of-a-Kindness Gala with all money raised going towards the People’s Ambulance.
Guests included an array of business people, Mayors and long-time supporters, including Wayne Norwood, grandson of Wellington Free’s founder Sir Charles Norwood.
Wellington Free Chief Executive Mike Grant says he is overwhelmed by the support of the event’s sponsors and the public this year.
