If many of your friends and neighbours have seemed a bit more hirsute recently they may well be taking part in the successful Movember Campaign.
Kāpiti’s Webgenius empresario Richard Calkin has joined the campaign alongside others like former All Black captain Richie McCaw and Black Caps coach Shane Bond in support of Movember.
Mr Calkin, a former national hockey rep, says New Zealand men are facing a health crisis that isn’t being talked about. They’re dying too young much before their time. He says this year he’s taking action by raising funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.
Mr Calkin says we can stop men dying too young and the Movember campaign is a fun way of raising funds for a very serious cause.
