“SH1 blocked following serious crash in Te Horo”
Police and emergency services are currently in attendance at a single vehicle crash on State Highway One in Te Horo.
The crash happened around 10:10pm.
State Highway One is blocked in both directions and diversions are in place.
Police have reported one person is in a critical condition.
Police are advising motorists to avoid the area.
Reports are coming in of a serious car crash in Te Horo where it appears a speeding car has rolled and caught fire.
Witnesses say the accident threw the two people out of the car.
High speed is thought to have caused the crash and emergency vehicles are in attendance at the scene which is just south of Ōtaki, near Te Hapua Road.
The road is currently blocked both ways.
