This year’s Kāpiti Lions Monster Bookfair is on Saturday and Sunday the 14th and 15th of October.
This is one of Kāpiti’s major annual events with sixty-five-thousand books on sale at the Waikanae Memorial Hall. The doors will be open from 8am to 6pm on Saturday and on Sunday from 9am to 2pm.
There will be more than enough to satisfy everyone, with plenty of fiction, travel, sport, cooking, gardening, hobbies, biographies and New Zealand and other titles, puzzles and games and musical material.
And if anyone has transport problems, remember the train stops almost at the front door!
Lions are able, from each bookfair, to give some $40,000 to a range of worthwhile beneficiaries, who this year will be;
The Waikanae Surf Club, Wellington Hospital Neo-natal Unit, Wellington Hospital Mobile Neo ICU, Birthright, The Shed Project, Woman’s Centre/Refuge, June Oakley Memorial Trust, Life Flight Trust, Kāpiti Youth Quest, Waikanae Primary School, Kapanui Primary School and Alzheimers Kāpiti.
