A packed public meeting has demanded action from NZTA in dealing with noise from the Kāpiti Expressway, says MP for Mana Kris Faafoi.
“Over 90 local residents attended the public meeting on Monday night and the message from all of those in attendance was the same we want action from NZTA,” says Mr Faafoi.
“Many locals, while supportive of the Expressway project, expressed their frustration with the impact it has had on their quality of life.”
The public meeting heard from Deputy Mayor Janet Holborow, Community Board Chair Johnny Best, former Deputy Mayor and local resident Roger Booth NZTA declined an invitation to attend, says Kris Faafoi.
“At the meeting local residents committed to expressing their views to NZTA directly and I will be supporting them in this. It’s time for NZTA to listen to locals and to address their concerns,” he says.
