Ōtaki MP Nathan Guy has welcomed the Government’s investment of $900,000 into two new classrooms at Waikanae School.
“This new funding is great news for the community and recognises the school roll is growing,” says Mr Guy.
“Waikanae and the Kāpiti Coast are increasingly popular areas for young families, especially given all the roading improvements giving us better connections into Wellington.
“I’m very pleased the Government has recognised the need for more capacity here and is supporting this excellent local school.”
The new funding is going towards two new modular classrooms, and is on top of a separate project to replace two existing classrooms.
“Modular classrooms are built to the same standards as modern, permanent buildings but can be purchased and delivered much quicker and with less disruption to the school.”
