Kāpiti collectors reported a generous response to the Blind Foundation’s Red Puppy Appeal.
Marilyn Wilkinson of Paraparaumu was one of the collectors in Kāpiti.
“People were very generous and we are so pleased with the support. It is a great cause and the Appeal has been very successful,” said Marilyn.
The breeding and training of guide dogs wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of the public.
Becoming a Blind Foundation guide dog doesn’t happen overnight. In the first two years approximately 14 months is spent alongside a puppy walker, with many months of training and assessments.

What a priceless and vital gift a guide dog is there’s actually so much demand for one now that the Blind Foundation have a 12-month waiting list.
Somewhere in your community, someone has lost their sight and with it, their independence and confidence. The Blind Foundation puppies want to be there for them. The Blind Foundation puppies could change someone’s life forever.
