Coastella Music Festival Returns to the Kāpiti Coast: a Summary Discovery Featuring the Music of Ireland
Coastella Music Festival will return to the Kāpiti Coast on 25th February 2017, after the success of it’s “near-perfect” inaugural year. This big summer concert will take Wellington by storm, featuring toe-tapping music from Ireland and promising festival-goers an unmissable day out at this great event.
The one-day summer festival will showcase established and emerging local and international artists with an eclectic range of music covering indie rock, Americana, folk, Irish, pop, New Orleans swing, hip hop, singer-songwriters, dreamy pop and electro. performances The line-up includes international acts such as world music band ALDOC, multi-platinum selling pop-rock singer Mundy (Romeo & Juliet soundtrack) and the edgy traditional Irish arrangements of the Seamus Begley Trio.
As well as these international acts, the line-up includes the internationally acclaimed local indie rock band The Phoenix Foundation (Hunt for the Wilderpeople soundtrack), six-piece string band The Eastern, and blues singer Warren Maxwell who will be joining Coastella direct from performing in Antarctica. Over 20 acts on 5 stages located once again within the spectacular grounds and natural amphitheatre of the Southward Car Museum, just north of Paraparaumu. If you’re in Kāpiti or otherwise the general Wellington area looking for a big concert, Coastella is your first priority.
Festival Director Gerry Paul says, We’re so excited to see the way people react to the lineup and activities we have for next year. We have some New Zealand favourites on the bill, as well as loads of new bands who will add to the discovery element of the festival, really something for everyone, including the kids!
After the success of last year’s Festival, organisers expect Coastella to attract an even larger crowd in 2017, with the new date of sunny February giving even more reason to get amongst this summer event.
