Starting on Sunday 21 August, we’ll be carrying out three weeks of night works in this area to lay the new road surface and tie it in to the existing road. We need to do this work at night to avoid major disruption to heavy daytime traffic on this road.
Throughout this time there’ll be stop/go and/or a full road closure in place each night. Although at times the road will be closed to traffic, pedestrians will be escorted through the site by our team. Alternate driving routes are via Te Roto Drive, Guildford Drive, Realm Drive, Mazengarb Road and Arawhata Road and you’ll still be able to get to BP on Kāpiti Road (entry and exit will be through one driveway).
Each night from SUNDAY 21 AUGUST TO FRIDAY 26 AUGUST (inclusive) – resurfacing works along Kāpiti Road, outside BP. Stop/go in place from 7pm until 10pm, followed by a full road closure overnight from 10pm until 5:30am.
Each night from SUNDAY 28 AUGUST TO FRIDAY 2 SEPTEMBER (inclusive) – night works at the intersection of Kāpiti Road and Arawhata Road. Stop/go in place from 7pm to 5:30am. No full road closure.
Each night from SUNDAY 4 SEPTEMBER UNTIL FRIDAY 9 SEPTEMBER (inclusive) – resurfacing works between Kāpiti Road Bridge and Arawhata Road intersection. Stop/go in place from 7pm until 10pm, followed by a full road closure overnight from 10pm until 5:30am.
This will be relatively noisy work as we remove around 150mm of the surface to lay the new road. We apologise for any inconvenience this might cause and thank you for your patience and understanding as we complete some of our major milestones works along Kāpiti Road. This work is weather dependent, so we’ll keep you in the loop if anything changes.
