Visiting Tibetan Buddhist monk Geshe Jampa Tharchin is coming to Kāpiti and Wellington to give teachings.
Kāpiti Mindfulness Meditation Course (Raumati South Hall, Tennis Court Rd) Saturday April 2, 10am – 3pm. Learn how to benefit from paying attention to your world, being engaged and present in this whole day workshop. Geshe la presents techniques, meditation, and discusses how mindfulness can reduce stress, help you feel calmer, more aware, and improve your focus and concentration. Geshe Jampa Tharchin left Tibet to study at Sera Jey Monastery and Gyume tantric college in India. He obtained the Lharampa Geshe PhD degree, and taught at Kopan Nunnery, Nepal, before coming to NZ to be Chandrakirti Tibetan Buddhist Meditation Centre’s resident teacher in 2011.
The Wellington Public Talk (31 Hobson Cr, Thorndon) is on Friday April 1, where he will speak on the importance of patience and how to cultivate it. Forbearance, endurance, acceptance of the truth and our experience just as it is. Geshe la will speak about the perfection of patience and how to cultivate it in your daily life and practice. ($10 koha)
