Kāpiti Basketball Association U15 Boys take the honours.
On Saturday the Kāpiti U15 Boys Rep Team took on Levin and emerged victorious in the inaugural “Dominos Challenge Trophy”.
The trophy challenge was the culmination of a successful year for the U15’s and in the words of their Coach Paul Roberts “they have really started to gel as a team”. The win and the score line 91-35 reflected the tremendous gains the team have achieved over the past 8 months.
The season report cards for each player noted considerable improvements in their skill levels. The following received individual trophies – Most Improved Player Konan Snow, Hardest Working Forward Pearson Huyser and Hardest Working Guard Evayer Tabor. KBA Head Coach Angelo Robinson was especially pleased with the effort put in by Coach Paul Roberts and Manager Graham Cowle, “Behind every successful team is a Successful Team Paul and Graham epitomised what KBA is about.
As volunteers they were passionate and committed to making this team a success. The team is still quite young and it all bodes well for next year, I expect that they will do very well at Nationals next year.” The game also presented a chance for KBA to support Youth Quest and the KR4Y cause, a tidy sum was collected.
