Palmerston North MP, Iain Lees-Galloway, lead a successful workshop in Ōtaki on Sunday in a further bid to save the Capital Connection.
Mr Lees-Galloway said 35 dedicated people spent hours brainstorming new ideas that will help a newly formed committee run a successful campaign to save the only commuter train service that runs from Palmerston North to Waikanae.
“The team now has each member running a different aspect of the campaign and we are welcoming any volunteers who wish to help them with their area of responsibility.”
Mr Lees-Galloway said he would like to thank Perter Kirby, Penny Gaylor, Rob McCann, Lynne Gill, Malcolm Faulls, Marylin Stevens, Martin Burton and Chris Papps for volunteering to be on the campaign committee.
The Save the Capital Connection Committee will hold its first meeting this week and plan to have the campaign fully on its feet my March 1st.
