Kāpiti’s Greater Wellington Regional Councillor Nigel Wilson said he was pleased to see the QEP Cycleway taking shape following a very well attended walkover with the Greater Wellington design team on Saturday.
“Over 100 residents turned out to see where the cycleway is proposed to go and many helpful suggestions were received by project manager Jonathan Kennett who has designed cycleways throughout New Zealand,” said Cr Wilson.
The $825,000 project will be developed during 2015 and completed in January next year. It will offer a sustainable transport option for the region and a direct link between the communities of Raumati and Paekākāariki and will provide an exciting new dimension to the park. The total length of the track is 6.6km and it will be sealed and between 2.5 and 3m wide.
