Kāpiti-Mana Police have charged a 17 year old male with two charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm for the serious assault of an elderly couple in Waikanae.
He will also face two charges of burglary for this incident as well as burglary that occurred earlier in the evening near He Awa Street when he appears this afternoon in the Porirua District Court.
The elderly victims of the assault remain in hospital in a stable condition.
Detective Senior Sergeant Grant Ferguson, Kāpiti-Mana Investigations Manager, says “This incident has caused significant concern in the local community and we are pleased to have it resolved swiftly.”
“I hope the Kāpiti community is reassured that this cowardly person will face the consequences of his actions.”
