The Kāpiti Arts Trail is done and dusted for another year with the two-day event having been largely successful.
Over 260 artists displayed their work in over 100 venues from Paekākāariki to Ōtaki. The largest venue was the Southwards Car Museum which presented the work of 28 local artists as well as hosting a classic car convention.
Sunday provided fantastic weather and this large venue made a great day of it creating a carnival-like atmosphere.
The event having been successful once again, many people have suggested that the Arts Trail should become an Arts Week, spreading across 5-7 days ensuring that the people of Kāpiti can visit a greater number of venues.
Kāpiti Artist Carl Ingram was thankful to everybody that stopped by and showed their support saying “I have plenty of Art left over so anybody that couldn’t make it will be able to purchase it directly from my site over the coming days”. Mr Ingram said he was grateful to the organisers and the Kāpiti council for hosting it.
Like a number of artists, Mr Ingram was working on art pieces during the exhibitions. “I got a fair amount of work done on a new abstract piece as well,” he said.
