New chief executive Greg Campbell has started his tenure at the helm of Greater Wellington Regional Council.
Mr Campbell brings with him extensive experience in the private sector, most recently as Chief Marketing Officer and Director at Vodafone New Zealand. Previous positions include Managing Director of The New Zealand Guardian Trust Company and General Manager, Products and Marketing, ANZ Bank.
He says he is excited about bringing his expertise to the Wellington region and building on the past successes of the regional council.
“There has been a lot of great work done here in terms of boosting the region and I am looking forward to working in collaboration with the elected councillors, our stakeholders and the communities that make the Wellington region a wonderful place to live, work and play. By working together, we can ensure that the region goes from strength to strength.”
Kāpiti regional councillor Nigel Wilson said Mr Campbell has already made a positive contribution.
“Greg has a tough job replacing Dave Benham who recently retired from the role but he has made a great start. I think the organisation is in excellent hands. In fact the whole senior management team at Greater Wellington is top class so the future prospects look very bright.”
