The 2014 Arts Trail has started with a soggy Saturday but that hasn’t deterred art lovers from across the region descending on the Creative Kāpiti Coast.
With over 100 venues exhibiting the works of more than 200 artists this is one of the biggest art events in New Zealand – In fact it is almost too big for one weekend and organisers might want to look at hosting the Arts Trail over two weekends.
With so much to see the scramble is on so make the most of this opportunity to view the wide array of local talent on display and also many of the works are available for sale.
A number of artists have reported a steady increase of visitors during the day and with the prospect of a sunny Sunday there will hopefully be record numbers out to see these superb collections.
The painting featured here is by Paraparaumu artist Ann Jensen who specialises in acrylic and water colour. Ann is sharing exhibition space with Waikanae artist Lee Russell whose paintings are evocative and brilliantly crafted. These two painters are displaying their work at 44 Kohekohe Rd, Waikanae.
