Youth Quest Showcase at Coastlands

In preparation for Kāpiti Run for Youth the Youth Quest team will be showcasing what they do in the Kāpiti community at Coastlands on Saturday 25 October between 12 and 2pm.

Terry Poko is excited as Youth Quest is motivated to help and build a strong local community. Just recently a big group of boys were involved with the Gus Evans Nursery plant day and the M2PP grab a trailer of peat for free!

“By being connected and involved with community initiatives it not only helps us raise funds to support what we do, it provides a real life community experience for our boys” says Terry. Terry goes on to say that “for a boy to be part of our mentoring programme it means that he has a more experienced person guiding and motivating him with life skills and decisions.”

“We are gearing up for Kāpiti Run for Youth as it is important for the community to see us involved, particularly as we are asking for donations to support the work that we do” says Darcy Hata. All sponsorship that will come from Kāpiti Run for Youth will be support the running of our two key programmes, Operations and Mentoring.

To find out more about both of our programmes, come and see us at Coastlands on 25 October. “We will have a team of boys tagging on and off treadmills that CityFitness are loaning us so it will be fun to watch and cheer us along” says Terry.

It’s not too late to take part in Kāpiti Run for Youth as an individual or group “we are on a mission to raise $20K for Kāpiti youth” says Richard Calkin of Web Genius. Register today, www.kapitirunforyouth.co.nz
