I am seeking election to enable me to contribute many years of political and community experience to my local community.
For the past nine years I have worked for Plunket, Barnardos and Every Child Counts promoting the place of children and young people in Aotearoa NZ.
My previous board experience includes ChildFund NZ and chairing the
board of the environmental project, the Clean Up New Zealand Trust. I
have also been a government minister and MP.
With two small children who are being educated in Kāpiti, I am
passionate about ensuring that the Paraparaumu-Raumati community
offers our young citizens every opportunity for growth and learning.
I have a degree in political science and a Masters degree in international politics.
I am excited about the potential of working on behalf of Kāpiti residents as your representative on the community board.
