The Kāpiti Coast has the most accessible and safest beaches in the region. As a candidate for Mayor, I have an LL.B BA and bring experience in operating small businesses, and will emphasise progress and protecting the coastal environment. Our family have been on the Kāpiti Coast, Manly Street, Paraparaumu Beach, for twenty years. I have two daughters attending a local school.
As leader and member of the district council we will, when implementing the district plan:
Build a storage, irrigation, and hydro-electric dam on the Lower Maungakotukutuku stream;
Replace the current Ōtaki traffic lights, corner Main and Arthur, with a pedestrian underpass;
Increase the amount of car-parking available at the district’s three railway stations;
Incentivise subdividing sections, to enable building affordable one and two bedroom units;
Provide assistance to elderly citizens with a Senior Citizens call centre; and,
Undertake to rectify the 1800 affected coastal LIM reports.
