A resident has reported seeing lions at the Paekākāariki end of Queen Elizabeth Park.
“I was just sitting there quietly feeding the flamingos when a large lion emerged from the undergrowth. It was most disconcerting,” said the resident who did not wish to be identified (his name is Fred Smith from the Parade, Paekākāariki).
The unidentified resident (Fred Smith) said he had often suspected there were lions in the Park and was calling the KCDC dog ranger, Mr Wolff (really, that’s his name), in the hope that lives not be lost.
“I have heard that they like the taste of people from Paekākāariki so I’m thinking of moving to Raumati.”
