The trains at Kāpiti Miniature Railway in Marine Gardens, Raumati Beach, will be running from 5 pm until 9 pm on Saturday 13th April, 2013 to celebrate the end of NZ Summer time.
This is always a very popular event with crowds coming to enjoy the unusual experience of riding the trains in the twilight and later the darkness. The station area is decorated with coloured lights and the flickering headlights and tail lights of the trains can be seen cutting through the darkness.
The Kāpiti Brass Band will give a short concert in the Park before it gets too dark.
A number of miniature locomotives (including at least 2 steam engines)from other areas will be visiting Kāpiti for the occasion.
