I have a solution for Solveig Mikkelsen and her problem with cycle helmets.
Take one 10-yesr-old daughter – before cycle helmets were compulsory, allow her to make a human mistake and encounter a logging truck.
go then to the hospital and watch the doctors put your daughter’s skull back together. Then sit beside her bed for several weeks as that skull injury heals, still with the echoes of the ambulance staff echoing in your own ears, that this girl is critically injured. Add to that the doctors and police, gently telling us that helmets prevent that kind of injury.
Then, Ms Mikkelsen, come back and tell me that cycle helmets are unnecessary.
