Hundreds of Kāpiti Coasters turned out over Queens Birthday weekend to visit the Antiques Fair at Memorial Hall in Paraparaumu.
Organiser Diane Akers said she was delighted with the numbers visiting the fair and there would be a substantial donation to Mary Potter Hospice from the door sales.
“It has been very well supported from locals but there have also been a lot of visitors here from Wellington and outside the area.”
The Fair featured a wide range of antiques on sale and Ms Akers said all of the vendors were licenced antique dealers. dealers had come from as far afield as Auckland, Tauranga and Christchurch. She said Trade Me had had some impact on the antiques business but the fairs were still very popular.
“With antiques, people still want to see things hands on and that makes the fairs ideal.”
There are 22 antiques fairs each year and this was the fourth hosted in Kāpiti.
